PRESSURE REDUCER RCP-1

FUNCTION

The reducer with a double-ported body is designed to maintain a constant pressure value downstream the reducer’s valve in installations where high flow coefficients are required. It is used in steam, cold and hot water installations as well as air and gases installations in order to protect them from excessive pressure increase. It can also be used for other media provided that it is agreed with the manufacturer.

CONSTRUCTION

Reductor comprises three main units:
• double-seated valve (1) with stem bellow sealed
• diaphragm actuator (2)
• adjuster set (3)

CHARAKTERISTICS

• steel and stainless steel materials used
• maintenance-free bellows seal ensures high efficiency of the reducer
• high tightness of the shut-off due to the application of plugs with PTFE, EPDM and NBR sealings
• design reducing the noise level
• the possibility of fitting with piston or bellows actuators

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

Regulator is open on power failure. Increase in the regulated pressure causes valve closing. Self-operatedregulator constitutes valve control device that is driven by fl uid fl owing through the valve. The impulse ofregulated pressure, as measured downstream the valve (1), is applied to the actuator pressure chamber (2). The resulting pressure on the actuator diaphragm, which is evoked by regulated pressure, is counterba-lanced by the spring tension in the adjuster set (3). Thus, a change in the regulated pressure causes valve plug displacement till the regulated pressure attains its set-up value.
